Noise Measurements

Environmental noise means unwanted or harmful outdoor sound created by human activities, including noise emitted by means of road, rail, water and air transport, from industrial installations and equipment, and from local sources of noise. Periodic measurements shall be carried out for establishments where noise-making installations or equipment are operated, in accordance with the requirements of Presidential Decree 1180/81.

Measuring noise levels and employees’ noise exposures is the most important part of a workplace hearing conservation and noise control program. It helps identify work locations where there are noise problems, employees who may be exposed to noise levels that can cause hearing loss, and where additional noise measurements need to be made in accordance with the requirements of Presidential Decree 149/06.

Envirometrics S.A. holds an accreditation according to ISO 1996-1, ISO 1996-2, EN 61672-1 for environmental noise measurements and ΕΝ ISO 11201, EN 61672-1 for workplace noise measurements and implements its projects with certified and calibrated high-precision equipment.

Designed to meet the requirements of Law 4342/2015, the EPPB involves detailed data collection, meticulous analysis, and prioritization of municipal buildings to apply energy-saving measures and efficiency enhancements. We closely collaborate with municipalities to create these comprehensive plans, analyzing the primary data of the municipal building stock and the energy consumption of each property.

Our detailed assessment allows us to propose appropriate energy upgrade strategies for each building, considering factors like existing energy issues, the importance of the building’s preservation, and the building’s potential impact on the wider urban environment. A comprehensive technical report outlining the recommended actions and expected outcomes is provided. Additionally, we have developed a digital platform to streamline the process, allowing for efficient data input and analysis and easy generation of the EPPB technical report. Training services are also provided to familiarize interested parties with using the platform.

Under Law 4936/2022, we guide municipalities through the development of MERPs aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Our role includes assisting in primary data collection to record and evaluate the energy consumption of all the activities under a municipality’s jurisdiction. We then calculate the carbon footprint and establish realistic reduction targets for 2025 and 2030.

We also assist in identifying, prioritizing, and recording effective climate change mitigation measures to help the municipality meet its intended reduction goals. As with the EPPB service, a thorough technical report detailing the carbon footprint, planned mitigation measures, and expected outcomes is provided. This report is submitted to an independent accredited body for verification. We also provide a user-friendly digital platform for streamlined data analysis, report generation, and necessary training for its use.

As part of the European Commission’s Covenant of Mayors initiative, the SECAP service supports local authorities in implementing sustainable energy and climate policies. We work closely with municipalities to collect and analyze data about the activities within their geographical and administrative boundaries. This information enables us to quantify greenhouse gas emissions and determine the most representative emission factors per emission category.

The SECAP report delivered to the municipality includes a detailed carbon footprint, an assessment of climate risks, and a strategic action plan for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change. This service is rounded off by entering the collected data, and it results into the Covenant of Mayors platform, thus maintaining transparency and facilitating international recognition for the municipality’s climate and energy action efforts.
