Odour Management Plan
Envirometrics S.A. is committed to provide our customers with all the necessary knowledge and tools when it comes to odour assessment, analysis, and control.
By building an Odour Management Plan (OMP) we provide you with an integrated solution either for minimizing odour related nuisance events or for complying with the relevant environmental protection regulations and directives, hence our developed framework outlines the stakeholders’ commitments and strategy to manage odours. Our company’s toolkits, experience and accreditations rest assured that we integrate all the necessary stages of a management system for providing extensive consulting services and solutions for managing odours.
Following the common pathway of a management system “Plan – Do – Verify – Act”, an OMP delivers a full-scale study from diagnosis to implementation measures, monitoring & control and finally a contingency programme.
Our experience shows that among others, reliable and consistent spatial data is necessary for building a robust odour management system. Our ΕΝ ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory of ENVIROMETRICS S.A. delivers high-end sampling and analysis by Dynamic Olfactometry for the determination of odours concentration according to EN 13725:2022. The results obtained from the analysis, the operational data of the unit and the meteorological and topographical data of the area, are used as input data to produce an Odor’s Dispersion Model. Thus, the spatiotemporal distribution of the concentrations of odors emitted by one or more sources is calculated. In this way, the maximum effects, the frequency, and the conditions of occurrence of high concentrations are estimated.
Verification of dispersion modelling is many times strongly recommended either through sample analysis or through field inspection. Our qualified sniffers and specialists provide field inspection services and field measurements to verify or fine-tune the results of a dispersion model throughout the areas of study.
- EPPB(Energy Performance Plan for Buildings)
- MERP(Municipal Emission Reduction Plans)
- SECAP(Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan)
- ΔΗΣΜΕ
- Energy Performance of Buildings(SEAK)
- Covenant of Mayors
Designed to meet the requirements of Law 4342/2015, the EPPB involves detailed data collection, meticulous analysis, and prioritization of municipal buildings to apply energy-saving measures and efficiency enhancements. We closely collaborate with municipalities to create these comprehensive plans, analyzing the primary data of the municipal building stock and the energy consumption of each property.
Our detailed assessment allows us to propose appropriate energy upgrade strategies for each building, considering factors like existing energy issues, the importance of the building’s preservation, and the building’s potential impact on the wider urban environment. A comprehensive technical report outlining the recommended actions and expected outcomes is provided. Additionally, we have developed a digital platform to streamline the process, allowing for efficient data input and analysis and easy generation of the EPPB technical report. Training services are also provided to familiarize interested parties with using the platform.
Under Law 4936/2022, we guide municipalities through the development of MERPs aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Our role includes assisting in primary data collection to record and evaluate the energy consumption of all the activities under a municipality’s jurisdiction. We then calculate the carbon footprint and establish realistic reduction targets for 2025 and 2030.
We also assist in identifying, prioritizing, and recording effective climate change mitigation measures to help the municipality meet its intended reduction goals. As with the EPPB service, a thorough technical report detailing the carbon footprint, planned mitigation measures, and expected outcomes is provided. This report is submitted to an independent accredited body for verification. We also provide a user-friendly digital platform for streamlined data analysis, report generation, and necessary training for its use.
As part of the European Commission’s Covenant of Mayors initiative, the SECAP service supports local authorities in implementing sustainable energy and climate policies. We work closely with municipalities to collect and analyze data about the activities within their geographical and administrative boundaries. This information enables us to quantify greenhouse gas emissions and determine the most representative emission factors per emission category.
The SECAP report delivered to the municipality includes a detailed carbon footprint, an assessment of climate risks, and a strategic action plan for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change. This service is rounded off by entering the collected data, and it results into the Covenant of Mayors platform, thus maintaining transparency and facilitating international recognition for the municipality’s climate and energy action efforts.
